Early Life and Background
Colleen was born and brought up Atlanta, Georgia. Her father is an architect. She doesn’t appear to have any siblings. She was always fascinated by weather while photography was her second passion. She has learnt to play guitar and violin from her dad. She grew up being fascinated by weather and throughout the years, her passion endured, leading her to pursue her passion after matriculation. Although, she was popular in high school because of her looks, she was also much focussed in her studies. Colleen earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in earth and atmospheric sciences from 2004 to 2008. From there, she graduated in meteorology and then did a minor in business.

Colleen Coyle is married to Mike Rogers who also appears to be the life of her life. The couple meets during their college days at Georgia during their Freshman year in 2004. Mike proposed her in a very romantic way and eventually they both tied the knot in Dallas, Texas on 17th January 2015. According to Colleen, Mike is a very supportive husband and both of them are very happy with each other.

Career
Colleen’s pain for weather led her onto the path of being a meteorologist. Coyle interned at Georgia Tech’s Severe Storms Research Centre before starting to work professionally where she, along with her fellow researchers, focussed on finding new ways of detecting tornadoes. She prepared a thesis, ‘A Combined NEXRAD and CG Lightning Examination of the Atlanta Tornado in 2008. She moved on and had several jobs after finishing her internship before starting to work for the WFAA TV station.
Her first job was for WSB TV station in Atlanta, Georgia where she served as their weather producer for around a year before moving to Palm Springs in California in hope to improve her career and get better chances. She started working for the KPSP Local 2 station there. After less than a year, she joined the WFAA TV network as their meteorologist and providing full weather reports in July 2010. She worked there for more than nine years before announcing that she was leaving to focus more on her family.
