Roquan Daevon Smith (born on 8th April 1997) is an American football linebacker who played for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL). He’s a very talented young man who became the first Georgia Bulldog to win the Butkus Award in 2017. He’s has won several other awards too. Roquan is considered as the best linebacker player in America.

Early Life and Background
Roquan Smith was born to Shaquana Thomas and Roderick Smith in Montezuma, Giorgio, United States. He was brought up by his loving parents and along with the siblings named, Tyanna, Rod Smith and Omar Richards. His dad is a self-employed builder while his mother works at the Fort Valley State University. Roquan grew up under the care and guidance of his grandparents and trainer, Harold. He did his schooling from Macon Senior High School in Montezuma, Georgia. He got the chance to join the faculty football staff there. Smith played football for the Bulldogs during his High school years. Originally, he was committed to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) but later changed his commitment by joining the University of Georgia to play college football.
Personal life
Roquan is currently single and only focus on his career as of now. Although there were some rumours of him going out with the porn star, Abella Danger as those two were seen partying together. However, the news of them dating isn’t confirmed yet. Roquan seems to enjoy his single life. He’s one of the most eligible bachelors for now. Career
Roquan played college football under head coaches, Mark Richt and Kirby Smart when he was in the University. He played in 12 games and recorded 20 tackles in the year 2015 as a freshman. In 2016, he played in 10 games out of 13 games and recorded 95 tackles as a sophomore in 2016. Smith was named the MVP as well as the SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the associated press in the SEC Championship Game in 2017. He became the first Georgia Bulldog player to receive the Butkus Award the following year. Roquan entered the 2018 NFL Draft thereby deciding to forgo his final year of eligibility. In 2018, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
However, due to the contract disputes between the Bears and his agency CAA Football, his contract was significantly delayed. Later, on August 14, Smith was signed by the Bears to a fully guaranteed four-year deal with an $18.47 million contract including a bonus of $11.51 million making him the last first-round pick in his draft class to sign with the team. He recorded a sack on the Packers’ quarterback, DE Shone Kizer, as his first career snap in his NFL debut in week 1 against the Green Bay Packers on NBC Sunday Night Football. Smith made 13 tackles in week 6 against Miami Dolphins as well as in Week 9 against Buffalo Bulls.
The Bears won the game with 41-9 on the scoreboard. Roquan finished the season with 122 tackles, five sacks, five passes defended and one interception in total. In 2018, Roquan received an overall grade of 67.4 from Pro Football Focus and was ranked as the 39th highest grade among all qualifying linebackers.
